It's All Girl!

I would have to say that this is my all time favorite babyshower cake which is kind of unusual in that anyone who knows me knows that I HATE to make sheetcakes. I think tiered cakes automatically have a "wow" factor that sheetcakes just can't seem to pull off so when someone wants a sheetcake, I usually try to stear them in a different direction but this one I was more than happy with.

Number 18

The young lady that wanted this one asked me to do something with swirls and flowers.
More cakes....The first is for a first birthday

The banana shaped cake is a smash cake. I thought this was a super cute idea to go with a monkey cake.

The other 3 cakes are for baby showers.

The theme for this little girls birthday was "Tea Party". The mom had her teddy bear and dolls dressed up and sitting at a small table with cups and saucers in front of them as if they were playing tea party. It was so sweet!

The teacup of course is the smash cake.

Wanted to share with you how the cake was cut out before it was covered in fondant. I baked the cake in a 12x18 inch sheetcake pan, drew a template of the scrub top on a large peice of drawing paper. Place it on top of the cake to be sure it will fit and cut around it. I did have to peice the outside tips of the sleeves with the left over peices of cake and cut a half circle at the top for the neckline. Pretty simple. The other items are all made with fondant.

Nurse Scrubs

This is the first time I've made this one. It's a birthday cake for a nurse. Lots of detail but very fun.

Addison's First Birthday

Well, the party was a huge success and the table turned out great. I did however have to call my sister in early from 3 hrs. away to help me pull things together (thank you sis!) as I didn't realize it would take quite as much time as it did and my daughter had waited until about 2 weeks or so prior to Addison's birthday to inform me that she wanted to have a cake/candy table. We were litterally shopping for the party supplies just a few days before the event. On top of that I had a couple of other large cakes to do at the same time so needless to say, it was a race to get everything finished in time. So much so in fact that I didn't have time to set up before the party to take better pics. of the cake. There were things on the menu we had to leave off because we ran out of time but I think we probably had more planned than we needed anyway. By the time all was finished, I had 30 min. to ready myself for the party, get loaded up and get there. Thankfully the venue was only a few minutes away. It was definately worth 3 days without sleep and I would do it again in a second...well, maybe a little more than a second.

Baby...Oh Baby!

Just a few other baby shower cake I've made.

What's up

I have a big weekend coming up. It's my granddaughters first birthday. My ONLY grandchild so it has to be big, right? After all, how often do you celebrate the first birthday of the first grandchild? So my daughter and I are planning to do a desert/cake/candy buffet. Wow...hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew, especially since I have 2 other cakes due this week. I am definately excited to be putting this together though. I've been wanting to give one of these a go for a long time and what better opportunity. No pressure (only on myself). Anyway I look forward to sharing those precious moments with you very soon.

Pizza

Did someone order pizza....or cake? This actually makes me want a pizza. The birthday boys favorite food is pepperoni pizza. Who would have guessed that?

Girly Monkey

Isn't this little monkey the sweetest thing you've ever seen?
I think this is one of my favorite baby shower cakes. It just screams girl and isn't all about the monkey theme.

The bottle and passie are made using a choc. mould and the bracelet is handmade.

Party With Your Buds

This is an old pic. A cake I did several years ago. Of course it's an exclusive. I made it as a favor to a very close friend. I don't do it anymore because if you knew the small town that I live in...let's just say it would be a very popular cake. LOL!

Deerhead

This cake was made for a man who loves to deer hunt...of course!

70th Birthday

This cake was actually made for a lady turning 70. I was asked by her daughter in law to do something in a winter scene. I think it has a quiet, peacefulness about it. I also think this would make a beautiful winter wedding cake. The birdhouse is hand crafted from choc. candy clay and all the other details (branch, berries, leaves and pinecones and of course the cardinal ) are all fondant .

Does That Come In My Size?

Is this one sexy shoe? Another fun cake with a bit of bling for a 20th birthday. Where were cakes like this when I turned 20? The label inside the shoe was designed with the birthday girl in mind. It is her name.

It's All in the Bag!

This cake was so much fun and I love how it turned out. The baby bottle is chocolate and the other decorations are fondant. Needless to say, the mother to be was thrilled and one of the guests asked her where the cake was. (It was sitting on the table in the middle of the room.)

I'm turning 1

This was made for a first birthday. The customer couldn't deside on a theme for her sons first birthday so she just told me to make it all about turning one.
